The application process can seem overwhelming at first, but we'll help you through all the steps.
Have you lived in Cherokee County for at least 2 years? Are you willing to work 300 hours on your home? Are you able to put a $1500 downpayment on your home? If so, then proceed to the next section.
First, pickup an application at the Habitat for Humanity ReStore located at 204 S. Limestone Street. There, Kathy will explain to you how to fill out the application.
Fill out the application and all its attachments and return to the store.
Next, the Habitat For Humanity Family Selection Committee will review your application.
You will receive a letter informing you if you approved, un-approved, or if more information is needed to make a decision.
If approved for a home visit, a Habitat employee will contract you for a home visit.
After the home visit, the Board of Directors will hear the report from the homevisit and approve or decline homeownership.
If approved, you will work 300 hours of sweat equity on your home.
After construction is complete, you will take posession of your home.
